Our story
Hi, I'm David.
I run Lake Norman Home Repair out of Huntersville. Kitchens, bathrooms and whole home renovations, plus the repairs and maintenance that keep a house in good shape between the bigger projects.
I am on site. When you hire us you are not handed to a project manager you have never met, and you are not chasing anyone for an answer. I tell you what a job involves, what it costs, and when we will be there, and then we do that.
Some of the people we work for have been with us for years now, calling for the small things as well as the big ones. That is the part I am proudest of, and it is the reason we run the business the way we do.
David Smith, owner. Huntersville, NC.

How we work
How we transform homes.
Five stages, in this order, on every project. You always know which one you are in.
Discover
We walk the space, listen to how you actually use it, and find out what is behind the walls before anyone promises anything.
Design
Layout first, then finishes. You see the plan and the material choices together, so there are no surprises at the point of ordering.
Plan
Written scope, written price, and an agreed sequence. Permits filed where the work needs them.
Build
The same crew from demo to final hardware. Dust stays behind plastic, and you know what is happening in your house each week.
Reveal
A walkthrough together, a punch list written down, and the list finished before we call the job done.
Why homeowners choose us
Remodeling is a serious investment in your home.
Our job is to make it organised and predictable, so you know what is happening in your house and what it will cost before it happens.
The owner is on the job
David is hands-on from the first walkthrough to the final punch list. The person who quotes the work is the person running it.
We show up when we say
Dates you can plan around. When we say something will be done, it gets done, and you are told straight away if anything changes.
Clear communication and clear invoicing
You always know what stage the project is at and what you are being charged for. No surprises arriving at the end.
We respect the house you live in
The work area is left clean and organised at the end of each day, because you are still living around it while we work.

Kitchen remodeling
The room the rest of the house is built around.
Layout first, then finishes. We plan around how you actually cook and gather, then build it to the standard of a room you stand in for hours every day.

Bathroom remodeling
Small rooms are where craftsmanship shows.
There is nowhere to hide in a bathroom. Every tile line and every transition is within arm's reach. The part that decides whether it lasts twenty years is the part you never see.

Whole home
When the plan is bigger than one room.
Opening a wall between a kitchen and a living room changes both. Renovating a whole floor changes how a family uses the house. These projects need sequencing, not just building.

We recently completed a kitchen renovation with LKN Home Repair, and the experience exceeded our expectations from start to finish. David, the owner, was hands-on, professional, and incredibly easy to work with throughout the entire process.
Communication was clear and consistent, the project stayed on schedule, and the work area was always kept clean and organized.
Our kitchen is now both beautiful and highly functional, and it has truly transformed our home. We couldn't be happier with the results and would highly recommend LKN Home Repair and David to anyone considering a kitchen renovation.
We started working with David and Jacob from Lake Norman Home Repair in June for a whole-home renovation, and we could not be happier with the experience. From day one, they were organized, professional, and on top of every detail. They offered thoughtful suggestions throughout the project that truly elevated the end result, while still listening to our preferences and priorities.
David and Jacob set clear expectations and worked quickly without sacrificing quality. When they said they were going to do something, they got it done, and they showed up exactly when they said they would. That level of reliability is rare and made the entire renovation process so much smoother.
Highly recommend Lake Norman Home Repair. We'll absolutely be working with them again in the future.
Lake Norman Home Repair completed a sunroom demo and rebuild for us in September of 2025. It was an excellent experience from start to finish.
They visited our home the day after we requested an estimate for repairing our aging metal sunroom roof. David's company was the only one that was even willing to attempt a fix. The estimate was reasonable, and on-line reviews for them are exceptional so we decided to go with them for the fix. After removing the old rotting roof, the old structure was no longer sound, so we made the decision to have the entire room rebuilt. Again, David's quote and timeline both seemed reasonable, so we contracted them to do the total rebuild.
They started work immediately, and all of the crews were diligent. Every subcontractor used was all work, no-nonsense, and performed at a high level.
We are extremely pleased with the finished product, and we have used the new room every day since completion. Again, their quote was reasonable, came in on budget and the work was exceptional! We will be using Lake Norman Home Repair again for any job, big or small.
We have been working with David and his crew for several years. He always does top notch work. Recently did window recaulking and painting, fascia repair and new gutters. Couldn't be happier with their work. Fair pricing, personal approach, great follow up. Love them!!!!!
Repairs
We also handle the smaller jobs.
Painting, fascia, gutters, recaulking, drywall and the running list most homeowners keep on the fridge. Same crew, same standard, shorter timeline.

Questions
The things people ask first.
- How do we start?
- You call or send a note describing what you are thinking about. We walk the space together, talk through what is possible and what it involves, and you get a written scope and price before anything is committed.
- Do you handle permits?
- Where the work needs a permit, we handle the filing and the inspections. Structural changes, electrical and plumbing relocations usually do. Cosmetic work usually does not.
- Can we live in the house during the work?
- For a single room, almost always. For a kitchen, yes, with a temporary setup agreed before demo starts. For a whole floor renovation it depends on the sequence, and we will tell you honestly which weeks will be difficult.
- Do you still do smaller repairs?
- Yes. Painting, fascia, gutters, recaulking, drywall and the general running list. Remodels are the larger part of the work now, but repairs are still done by the same crew to the same standard.
Let's design your kitchen.
Tell us what you are thinking about. We will walk the space with you and give you a straight answer about what it involves.
